Wedding, Wakeboarding, Etc.

July was SUCH a crazy month for us! We went down to LA and San Diego 2 weeks ago for Justin's little brother Grant's wedding. It was a pretty busy weekend with lots of driving/ sitting in California traffic. I got to see my friend Crystal from high school which was really fun. We also drove several miles out of our way to take Justin's family to Five Guys (our very favorite place). The wedding was nice and we now have a new sister-in-law, Shan!

Last weekend we flew up to Redding for Grant and Shan's open house (aka Justin's excuse to go home and go to the lake). Justin's family has a boat and they live really close to Wiskeytown Lake. We went to the lake 4 times in 3 days which was really fun. The lake is really pretty and the water was really nice. Surprisingly this was the first time we had been out to the lake since we were married. Justin has always told me that he is going to teach me how to wakeboard and I have always told him that I would never try. However, I was brave and actually got up my first time trying. I fell lots too but I (and Justin) was pretty impressed with myself. I even had a couple good runs. Justin and his siblings are all pretty good at it.

Saturday was Justin's 26th birthday. He never really wants anything-- no gifts or cake or anything. He just likes to make me do something that he probably wouldn't be able to get me to do if it wasn't his b-day! So yesterday we went kayaking at Canyon Lake which is about an hour outside of Phoenix. There are lots of high cliffs and desert scenery. It actually ended up being fun even though I tried touching some cactus fruit and got lots of little cactus needles stuck in my hand. Oh well.

It's been a very exciting couple of weeks for us!
